Dolfans NYC At The Meadowlands – All The Info You Need!

This is from one of the fan sites on the Miami Dolphins’ web pageThey are a Miami Dolphins Fan Club and they were mentioned in The Miami Herald yesterday as well.  They have a pretty impressive following and I thought it would be nice to post what they are doing for the game on Sunday.  I wrote them and mentioned our get together scheduled for Nov. 11th and said I would post their piece here – in case any of you guys up in the northeast could get tix and maybe make it to the tailgate for the Jets game on Sunday!!   Gigi

Everybody all over the Miami Dolphins world is talking about Dolfans NYC this week.  As many of you know we bought 199 tickets to the Jets Dolphins game on the 28th as a group and then TONS more of our members bought tickets in sections 323 and 322.  Those sections might be in the nosebleeds but they will be bleeding Aqua and Orange.  All our tickets are gone and the two buses we are taking to the stadium are completely full but it’s not too late to hang out with us at Met Life Stadium.

DolfansNYC @ The Meadowlands

If you DON’T have tickets: Try NFL Ticket Exchange or Stub Hub and try to get seats in 323 and 322. Our rows are in the high teens so if you an find anything in the middle of the section you will be surrounded by Phins fans.

If you DO have tickets and just want to tailgate with us we are rolling in two buses at 10AM and will be parking in the charter bus lot in Lot L. If you look at  this map we will be in the little blue rectangle in lot L. We have several members that are going to get there the second the gates open and hold a spot down. Our buddy from the Ohio Dolfans club will be bringing with him his 28 foot flag pole so you should be able to find us pretty easily.

If you are tailgating with us we sugest you bring your own food and drinks.  We are providing food and drinks for the people who have already paid us and who are riding the bus with us and will probably have some stuff left over but we don’t want to run out so bring something! If you have a grill and tailgating stuff bring it!  The 200+ Phins fans we are rolling with will appreciate it.  We are going to have a few grills but the more stuff the better!

The fun stuff: We have a bunch of fun stuff going on at the tailgate aside from food, drinks and antagonizing Jets fans. We are going to be raffling a bunch of Dolphins autographs and other stuff at the tailgate.  The Dolphins actually sent us some cool stuff to raffle plus we have a bunch of our own stuff.  All the money raised will be donated to the Miami Dolphins Foundation and possibly a couple other charities. The raffle will be held at noon at the buses.  We also will have Dolfans NYC t-shirts there as well with profits going to charity as well.  We also are going to be video taping and photographing the event so don’t be surprised if you end up all over the Miami Dolphins fan sites.  We are doing a huge group picture at 12:15pm so meet us there for it!  Solo D will be joining us at the tailgate, so you might end up in a rap video as well…

More information: If you still have questions reach out to us at dolfansnyc@gmail.com or @doflansnyc on Twitter. You can also talk to us and more NYC Phins fans over on our Facebook page. We will be updating our Facebook and Twitter with our EXACT location as soon as we get to the Meadowlands so check one of them when you roll into the stadium gates.  Win or lose (we are going to win of course) it’s amazing to be there with so many Phins fans and this is going to be our biggest crowd yet. The video is Solo D’s new song about the Phins/Jets game this week.  He reps our bar Third & Long and shouts out Dolfans NYC.  He came with us last year and knows how much fun it is to party with Dolfans NYC.

See you guys soon. Go Dolphins!

I would consider attending as long as this section is on the exact opposite side of the stadium from fireman Ed.

Yesterday’s post scarred me for life.

  • Walker says:

If 200 show up in NY, and only 40 show up in Florida, what does that say?
Home, no more excuses, it is mandatory that you show up for the Fest, as a SFloridian

“Ryan works at it on a daily basis,” Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said. “His accuracy is improved, I think. The more he’s around his receivers, and gets a sense of how they compete for the ball down the field. … I think he’s worked at his trade and has gotten better.”

morning Dolfans! good to see the aqua n orange represented in the stench filled stadium in jersey.

its time to send the jests to the bottom of the afc east, where they can be Buffalos bitch , lol

lol this from our future commander/outsourcer in chief? SMH

    ,
Mitt Romney comments: “”Syria is Iran’s only ally in the Arab world. It’s their route to the sea. It’s the route for them to arm Hezbollah in Lebanon, which threatens, of course, our ally, Israel. And so seeing Syria remove Assad is a very high priority for us”

    .

Mitt Romney raised some eyebrows during last night’s foreign policy debate when he suggested that Syria is Iran’s main route to the sea.

A quick look at the map reveals that
    1. Iran does not border Syria and
    2. Iran has access to the sea in both its north and south.

nice. I wish I was in NYc this weekend. The song is sweet. I hope the phins listen to that song right before the game. Go Phins!

    Good morning Dolphins fans!

If I wasn’t traveling to FLA to see the game in MIA, I would have considered going. I kind of enjoyed going to the last game in NJ, even though we lost.

A woman just went in for an eye exam, and the female tech takes her into the room, and checks the prescription on her glasses, hands them back to the woman, and they come apart into 2 pieces!

I had to cannibalize a $499 frame to take the parts from it to fix her glasses, which she didn’t even get here. Unbelievable!

  • Mike E. says:

    Bri,

Ian Eagle is definitely a jests fan.

  • son of a son of a shula says:

This is bullshit with all the stej talking about hurting Bush (in a nice way, sheeesh) since when is this kind of stuff tolerated. Only those scumbag stej would say this kind of stuff about another player/team. I’m confident our guys have Reggie’s back on this but there’s no place for this kind of stuff and Fuck Rex getting an apology you reep what you sow, fatass.

    • Ken says:

I think Rex just wants some hot sauce on Reggie’s toes.

    • Tim Knight says:

I know right. Since when do you hear a coach and players talking about giving a player on another team a little something extra? We just had bounty gate, hello!

  • Tim Knight says:

LOL @ Mike E on the name Piggles

  • son of a son of a shula says:

Exactly Tim, I don’t understand the league’s lack of involvement here. And if one of there coaches attempts to hurt one of our guys again I will demand the same treatment for Rex that Gregg Williams received.

    • Al in NJ says:

It’s definitely inconsistent but I think that because the Saints had a pay scheme for injuries and also a cover up attempt when league officials tried to interview a few people regarding integrity concerns, they came down hard on them and used whatever excuses plausable to support the action chosen (player/coach suspensions etc).

  • Brian in NY says:

I hope that Dark Richie gets a clean, legal shot on Landry and Javorskie gets one on Maybin as well.

  • Tim Knight says:

son, the Jets talked about putting some extra hot sauce on Reggie in the first meeting and Reggie hurts his knee in the game. Then because Reggie said he didn’t feel bad for Revis getting hurt, that’s the story now? What fuckin world are we in here? LOL

    • Brian in NY says:

Bush said “what goes around, comes around”. He meant that if you talk shit and try to knock a player out of the game, then karma is coming back at you. That’s it. I bet that fat fuck wouldn’t have said a word if it was a no-name special teams player!

  • Brian in NY says:

    Mike E,

He openly rooted for them on WFAN before he became an announcer. I actually think he is pretty good, just hate him because of his background.

  • Brian in NY says:

I’m going to have my soon to be five year old son write a letter to Goodell stating that he is worried about Reggie Bush’s safety in the game. Maybe then he will do something.

  • CavalierKong says:

    Son,

We don’t want Rex to get the G Williams treatment. What if the Jest replace him with somebody good?

Speaking of bad coaching it was wonderful to see the Jest lose to the Pets due to the same conservative Sparano mentality that cost us so many games. Let’s see, tie game, recover a fumble inside the 30 with 3 minutes left, Brady on the other side…let’s run it twice, get into 3rd and long, fail to convert and kick a FG, giving Brady almost 2 full minutes to tie the game…ding, ding, ding…we have a loser!

    • Ken says:

Exactly on multiple accounts. I want Rex to be the Jets coach for life if possible. And yes the Sparano hire has worked out exactly as I had hoped. He still sucks as a coach.

  • Mike E. says:

You guys got it right. Rex is am ass if he thinks wrong owe an apology, or that he’s going to get one. He better eat more f’n Twinkies, he must not be getting enough sugar to his fat head to process things properly.

    • CavalierKong says:

Lol, good point! I hadn’t considered that. The new Jest interim coach: Tony Sparano.

It’s got a nice ring to it.

  • Al in NJ says:

    Son,

The yets players and coaches make several references to hurting or taking Bush out of the game both before and after. Bush gets hurt in a pileup where a cheap shot may or may not have occurred. Not even a peep from the league? Considering how often they like to get involved it is a complete joke that there was nothing said or done about the matter.

Just fuels the fire for our guys and the fans alike. Can’t wait for the game. It’s going to either be a 1 week high or depression until the next game. It’s a big one for our playoff hopes too.

  • Randy says:

Keller is back for the yets. I think we’ve been playing better against TEs overall, but Keller is going to make their offense tougher to defend. Our safeties are going to have to be very disciplined in this game.

  • CavalierKong says:

No offense intended guys. It bothers me having to give a disclaimer like that but I do attempt to pacify strong feelings some may have. I definitely won’t stop being me. Some people find objectifying women distasteful, homoerotic jokes distasteful, everything Piggy writes distasteful ;) , etc. but it is the intended humor that should be recognized or passed by if you can’t see it. It definitely should not be taken personal as I would never say anything with the intention to hurt unless you’re a prick.

I don’t really make attempts at being PC because no matter what you say SOMEBODY will be offended but IMO either everything is ok to poke fun at or nothing is (Matt Stone and Trey Parker). Once people starting sitting in judgment of this is ok and this isn’t where does it end? But remember just because a person can laugh at something serious doesn’t mean he/she doesn’t understand the seriousness of what is being laughed at. So I ask you don’t mistake me for a callous, uncaring ass.

I know nobody was actually lambasting me for my remark, rather it was more like gentle chiding , but I thought I’d give ya’ll some idea of where I come from as a person.

Talk about race, my wife or my mom and…. In this case I had a young sweet co-worker who died of breast cancer….so even if I was not one who spoke up the joke didn’t hit for me either.

  • stanger says:

“The shark, which reportedly had two bleeding wounds near its dorsal fin, is thought to have been dropped over the golf course by a predatory bird”

Tim — 4 miles inland? That is one big ass bird. Remind me to garage my car.

  • Randy says:

    Tim,

Yes, and he’s a tough matchup for most LBs. I think Dansby and Burnett have improved in that area, but it’s still something we’re not great at. Misi is still working at it. That’s why our safeties are going to have to be in the right spot all day b/c they can’t be pulled away from their other targets to help support on the TE.

I wonder if we’ll see a CB on Keller much this weekend.

  • Randy says:

So now we have chemtrails AND sharktrails? The Apocalypse is nigh.

  • Ken says:

    Cav Kong:

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. No one here is getting too upset over it and all of us at times say some sheet that is out of line. That’s one of the reasons why we all like this site better than any of the commercial sites. You have been posting here a long time and I don’t think anyone here would think you were trying to piss any one off or being callous and disrespectful. That’s not you and we all know that.

    • CavalierKong says:

Cheers, bro. :) I don’t take it to heart, I just thought I would clarify my own position. Heck, I’ve lost 2 aunts to breast cancer and a father to suicide. We all suffer tragedy but if we stopped laughing due to all the tragedies we endure we’d be a very sad planet, lol.

  • Mike E. says:

    Randy,

We have the best safety tandem in the NFL. Just look up the PFF ratings. lol

Actually, our safeties are playing better, but Keller is a tough guy to cover, and I’d bet Sanchez will be looking to go his way often. We need to clamp down on him.

  • son of a son of a shula says:

Right on Cav! I also don’t or didn’t intend to hurt or insult.

  • Randy says:

    MikeE,

We do? That’s what PFF says, huh? Well, if THEY say it then it must be true, eh?

I also think our safeties have been playing better, but Jones is still overly aggressive at times…that’s why I refered to them being disciplined. If they can get some throws down the field, it’s going to be that much easier for themt to get their running game going too.

Amen to that. I remember when I was younger and we were at the wake for my grandmother. My brothers and cousin were all joking around and laughing in the adjouning room Then my cousin stops and in all seriousness and says man we are giving grandma a lousy wake, which promptly caused us to crack even more my cousin included. Sometimes laughing is better than the alternative.

“Stanger, an eagle could easily carry a 2 foot shark. The shark probably kept twisting and fighting and the eagle said fuck it.”

Tim — another wild kingdom report from what happens off my balcony. We get like a dozen or so predator birds (not sure if falcons or hawks or what) that just float around on the updrafts every morning and afternoon looking for a kill.

They are pretty big, but I am guessing not all that smart. Few days ago I was walking past a window and one just plumped full speed and spread winged right into it with this “what the F just happened” look on it’s face.

Hawks they probably are. Not eagles — know what they look like — and much bigger than the birds that sit on royalty hands in movies about the middle ages (and aren’t ravens smaller too?). If buzzards, they don’t look like one in the bugs cartoons.

All I can tell you is that I had a definite moment with the bird till it slid down the window………just hope it started flying again before it hit ground.

Something to bring a smile on my face at the end of the day. From ESPN.com:

“The New York Jets’ recent contract extension of quarterback Mark Sanchez made ESPN senior writer John Clayton’s list as the third-worst NFL contract.

SanchezReportedly New York briefly explored the possibility of landing quarterback Peyton Manning before reaching a three-year, $40.4 million extension with Sanchez. The contract relieved cap room for the Jets but also offered Sanchez more guaranteed money. The move raised some eyebrows because Sanchez struggled in his third season.

This year hasn’t gotten much better. Sanchez has a career-low 53.2 completion percentage and his lowest passer rating (74.6) since his rookie year.

According to Clayton, Sanchez has $10 million guaranteed next year. So there is no doubt Sanchez will be on the roster in 2013. The Jets are also $7 million over the cap and must make some interesting offseason decisions to trim payroll and still find ways to improve the roster.”

  • BoulderPhinFan says:

This is interesting from james walker blon on espn

“The trash talking between the Jets and Dolphins is getting interesting. Both teams know this is a big game that will have a lot to do with the direction of their seasons.”

The winner will have a much better chance of wildcard. If the Jets win we have to have a better record than them to get in. They get the tie breaker. That means at least 9 or 10 wins. Ryan will probably get them to 8-8 especially if they win.

  • Ken says:

Those birds are nuts. When I used to fly out of Ft. Lauderdale executive and Pompano we would be in the pattern at 800- 1000 feet they would dive bomb us and we would have to take evasive action on a regular basis to keep from getting hit.

An unusual nasty mix of a hurricane and a winter storm that forecasters are now calling “Frankenstorm” is likely to blast most of the East Coast next week, focusing the worst of its weather mayhem around New York City and New Jersey.

Government forecasters on Thursday upped the odds of a major weather mess, now saying there’s a 90 percent chance that the East will get steady gale-force winds, heavy rain, flooding and maybe snow starting Sunday and stretching past Halloween on Wednesday.

Meteorologists say it is likely to cause $1 billion in damages.

Turkey Vultures are cowards though. They only dive bomb dead things. Even when they’re on the ground, eating some dead animal, they either run or fly away. They are some big mofo’s though.

I saw a Red Tailed Hawk a few weeks ago on a back road in Monroe NJ. That was a really big, aggressive bird. He came down fast, and was flapping furiously to slow his dive. He found what he was looking for though. I almost wanted to stop and get out to watch.

It is pissing me off because if they do cancel the flight due to sandy I can buy a ticket to Orlando right now and rent a car to drive home but they won’t tell me. So the stej are talking smack about Reggie today and SI released a “Player’s Poll” that has Reggie ranked as the 6th most overrated player in the league.

In the meantime, Reggie has been staunchly defended by his teammates and he’s had two weeks to heal-up.

Reggie’s going to be a man on a mission: See Reggie run. See Reggie jump. See Reggie victimize the stej come Sunday.

    Hey, Bart Scott: CAN’T WAIT!!!

  • David says:

the forecasters are saying jersey area could see snow and high winds sunday, this could make the game very defensive and run run run

    • Tim Knight says:

The forecast is more rain and a chance of some snow. The worst of it is supposed to be on Monday and Tuesday.

Tim, what do you think, the weather for the game will be fouled from frankenstorm or what>

Right now it’s not suppose to be nasty this weekend. Maybe some rain but it’s warm up here right now.

    • Tim Knight says:

I just heard that as well.

      • Marinofan13 says:

I posted a link yesterday evening that stated he’s been playing on S/Ts along with a reduced role on D. If it’s his toe like is being inferred, you don’t expose the toe to further injury… on S/Ts.

Yes, it looks like he’s losing his starting job to a rook.

I told many of you it was Sparano……now we have a good HC who knows how to develop players along with Mike Sherman……this team is in a good spot looking forward. I personally want them to hang on to all our draft picks and maybe acquire a few more and keep building through the draft.

  • David says:

One of the more messy aspects of the expected storm is that it just won’t leave. The worst of it should peak early Tuesday, but it will stretch into midweek, forecasters say. Weather may start clearing in the mid-Atlantic the day after Halloween and Nov. 2 in the Northeast, Cisco said.

“It’s almost a weeklong, five-day, six-day event,” Cisco said Thursday from NOAA’s northern storm forecast center in College Park, Md. “It’s going to be a widespread serious storm.”

With every hour, meteorologists are getting more confident that this storm is going to be bad and they’re able to focus their forecasts more.

The New York area could see around 5 inches of rain during the storm, while there could be snow southwest of where it comes inland, Cisco said. That could mean snow in eastern Ohio, southwestern Pennsylvania, western Virginia, and the Shenandoah Mountains, he said.

Both private and federal meteorologists are calling this a storm that will likely go down in the history books.

“We don’t have many modern precedents for what the models are suggesting,” Cisco said.

It is likely to hit during a full moon when tides are near their highest, increasing coastal flooding potential, NOAA forecasts warn. And with some trees still leafy and the potential for snow, power outages could last to Election Day, some meteorologists fear.

Some have compared it to the so-called Perfect Storm that struck off the coast of New England in 1991, but Cisco said that one didn’t hit as populated an area and is not comparable to what the East Coast may be facing. Nor is it like last year’s Halloween storm, which was merely an early snowstorm in the Northeast.

“The Perfect Storm only did $200 million of damage and I’m thinking a billion,” said Jeff Masters, meteorology director of the private service Weather Underground. “Yeah, it will be worse.”

Alright, how about the “Death Star” (Nebulous… or even Vader’s literal invention)? That would work for me. Actually, let me think about that for a nano-second… yes. That still works for me. YUP!

Good luck Gigi, but you already know I have your back. This move will be a blessing or it’ll be like the ending of a bad 70’s sitcom where in a week you’ll both be begging for each other back when you and the boss pass in the grocery store and try to ignore each other at first, lol. This is usually one of Tim’s dumbass scenarios

  • Gigi says:

Guess the truth pissed him off…have a good nite bogging from phone now. Cheers to FFR i’d have a drink with u or u guys if i could. Ciao
